On our fall visit to Munroe Falls Park...in Munroe Falls, Ohio...we saw a few fall migrants passing through...butt this very determined Black-capped Chickadee is the bird that got my attention.
There must have been something extra juicy wrapped up in that leaf, maybe a gooey grub or crackly caterpillar...yummy! It was a breezy morning and this low branch was in the open where the wind would catch it. This little guy kept hanging on while the leaf would spin back and forth and round and round! Being one with vertigo, I was getting dizzy watching him trying to hang on. I don't know how he did it.
He finally got his prize and flew off...in a slightly ziggy zaggy pattern...
Almost lost it there!
The breeze picked up again!
Never give up!
These little characters can really put on a show. Check my blog today as I have chickadees on the menu.
ReplyDeleteHello!:) I could watch them for hours. Cool pictures of the Coal.tit.
ReplyDeleteTalk about determined!! Great shots of butts today ..... ahahhahhah..... I didn't even get much for a butt on my last try with chickadees..... sigh.....sure am happy I got the good ones I captured last winter. Maybe when it snows and they are more in tune with sunflower seeds that I give them...I'll get some better shots.
ReplyDeleteIt is -4C this morning...and I was out bashing the bird bath into water twice and adding some more....must get my heated one set up and quick@!! There is lots of complaining happening out there right now...
