How many Black-crowned Night-Herons can you see?
We learned of this Night-Heron roost from our Weedpicker birdin' buddy. Best of all, it's on the way to the BirdMobile!
It's called 'Cold Creek' because it's cold...duh. It's fed from an underground spring and the temperature is always close to 48 degrees, great for fishing and for birds that like fish as it is never frozen. Not good for swimming...brrr. The fisherman that were fishing (what else would they be doing?) off of the dock, gave us the crazy eye, until we showed them the Herons right across the creek. They had never noticed them before, now a few were getting distracted by the birds instead of the fish...that weren't biting...slowly brainwashing more people!
