R.I.P.

Pogo Possum
?-2010

Sorry to say, Pogo has passed on to the great swamp in the sky...or a hole in our neighbors back yard...He had a great last few days, plenty of seed and cracked corn, sunshine and warm temps, and then...R.I.P., Rabies infected Possum.

He was doing a funny dance on our neighbors porch, kind of living up to his name, POGO! First they thought he was just jammin to the kids music, then they realized the very sharp teeth and squirrely(sorry squirrels) attitude meant his little cranium was crashing.

The proper authorities were called in to "take care of the situation at hand" as they say. The Doodles said toodles to Pogo...

Pogo's last visit to the sauna. He may be crazy, but he was clean.

  1. Ahhh....poor thing. I haven't seen any rabid animals in a long, long time. Always brings "Old Yeller" to mind. Uggh--that movie about killed me when I was a kid and saw it in the theater...

  2. I've never heard of a rabid Opossum around here. Hope I never see any form of rabies in my outside critters. That is so bad and scary. If one gets it then a lot will. I feel sorry for that opossum. Poor thing. You are right Kelly about that movie. It was the saddest movie I ever saw as a child. I got bit by a rabid raccoon at the age of 2 and had to go through all those shots. One a day in my belly for 14 days in a row.

  5. The Doodles said toodles? I know I'm not supposed to laugh at a time like this, but ...As for Old Yeller, I bawled for a week after that movie!
